Within Gythion Bay you can do several activities for adults and kids, such as beach volley, windsurfing and kitesurfing, darts, table tennis and others. You may also rent mountain bikes to explore the region around the camping.
For the younger ones there is a fully rennovated playground and a baby playground for ages 0 to 4. Last but not least, there are activities organised by a specilized person between 14.00 and 21.00 o’clock. Those activities include body painting, environmental education, dance contest and others.
Windsurfing or Kitesurfing
After 12.00 lovers of windsurfing and kite surfing start to wonder if the wind is strong enough to get on their board and sail away towards Crete with west wind. The spectacle is amazing for those lying on the beach.
Near the beach our camp site offers free of charge a place where windsurfers can wash and store their equipment.
A surf school is 500m away from the camp site where anyone can take lessons and rent equipment from Thodoris.
Windsurfers and kite surfers should always keep a safe distance from the swimmers.
Daily excursions and sightseeing
Camping Gythion Bay is situated in an ideal spot for daily excursions around the area. If you love to escape for a daily trip then you might spent 3 days of your holidays at Gythion Bay to visit the region.
The first day you can make the tour of Mani peninsula and visit the famous caves of DIros. The second day you can wake up early in the morning and head towards the small island Elafonnisos and in the evening drive to Monemvasia and visit the romantic castle of Monemvasia. The third day you can visit the archeological site of Mystras and the Knokionas springs in mountain Taygetos.
It is also very interesting to pay a visit to the small port town of Gythion which is 5 km away from the camping. You can walk from the small island of Kranae until the ancient theater, which is still active some summer nights.
